Tech Oversight Project Statement on Speaker Pelosi’s Pledge to Advance Antitrust Legislation

Mar 18, 2022

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, The Tech Oversight Project issued a statement following Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) commitment to advance antitrust legislation to the floor of the House:

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not bring bills to the floor that won’t pass, and this pledge brings us one step closer to passing historic antitrust reform,” said Sacha Haworth, Executive Director of the Tech Oversight Project. “Google, Apple, Facebook, and Amazon have been operating unchecked for years, spreading disinformation, bleeding small businesses dry, and targeting children with addictive products. Reining in Big Tech with antitrust reform is a bipartisan issue supported by Americans across the nation, which is why it has Big Tech running scared and spending millions against it. We applaud Speaker Pelosi for committing to advancing these critical bills, and look forward to Leader Schumer doing the same in the Senate.”
