WASHINGTON, DC – Today, The Tech Oversight Project’s Executive Director Sacha Haworth issued the following statement after the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced the Kids Online Safety Act (H.R. 7891) to the full House floor.
“Parents have fought tooth and nail for the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and deserve a final bill that protects all kids, tackles the youth mental crisis, and addresses Big Tech’s predatory designs. We are happy to see the bill move forward, but members of our coalition who have been critical to getting the bill this far will need to have concerns addressed before KOSA can become law. As Rep. Bilirakis said, this is not the end of the road, simply another step in getting KOSA closer to the President’s desk.”
