Meta CEO Pledges to Enable Trump’s Right-Wing War on Democracy
WASHINGTON, DC – The Tech Oversight Project Executive Director Sacha Haworth slammed Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg for his outrageous letter to Republican House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan:
“After months of calls with Donald Trump, Mark Zuckerberg’s groveling letter to the House Republican Judiciary Committee shows the Meta CEO’s rebrand as a MAGA ally and enabler is now complete. Zuckerberg’s letter represents a new phase in Big Tech’s rejection of fundamental American values and democratic principles, even threatening regulators and public servants trying to do their jobs in times of crisis. This is exactly what Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, Jim Jordan, and the MAGA Republicans want: Big Tech CEOs like Mark Zuckerberg pandering and following the Elon Musk playbook. As children continue to die because Zuckerberg willfully ignored his team’s safety proposals, how dare he threaten us. It’s past time for Congress to address the threat Mark Zuckerberg, the MAGA tech bros, and their support for Project 2025 extremism pose to our country — the scope of which Zuckerberg has made explicit with this appalling letter.”
